Job Description


We are currently looking for a Sr. Network Engineer with a strong background in network and wireless technologies to join our team! This individual, the Sr. Network Engineer, is to perform a role for a large-scale, logistically complex technology refresh program for a large K-12 client. The selected Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of the technical services of the program (Design, Configuration, and Integration), including compliance to client-defined standards and creating service delivery best practices.                                                                                                                                                         

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience leading complex project builds with proven performance to achieve on-time completion of projects
  • Strong networking background with a focus on Cisco routers, switches and firewalls hardware
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated successful design, planning and implementation of wide and local area network, including troubleshooting and capacity planning
  • Expertise working on a team with motivated cross-functional individuals focused on a common goal of delivering solutions to meet demands in an ever-changing environment to achieve on-time and on budget completion of projects.
  • Cisco CCNP certificate or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to work either AM or PM shift – typically 8AM-5PM or 3PM-12AM
  • Must be willing on occasion to travel to NYC locations
  • B.S. degree in Information Technology or other technical discipline is strongly preferred

Required Skills & Experience:

Knowledge of Cisco Best Practices included but not limited to the following:

  • Routing protocols OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
  • WAN connectivity
  • Spanning-tree, VLANs, Port Channels, Load balancing,
  • Multicast PIM Sparse/Dense, MSDP
  • NAT
  • Deep understanding of VRF
  • Solid command of IOS, NX-OS, IOS XE
  • Cisco and Aruba Wireless knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ambitious and goal oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete
  • Experience with Python scripting a plus
  • Industry Certifications across several disciplines a plus
  • Development of automation solutions to integrate with existing route, switch, load balancing, and firewall technologies a plus

The position require extensive travel into the five boroughs of New York City and occasional travel to Hauppauge, NY
