Job Description

The Role: Serves as a key member of the Professional Services leadership team and will be responsible and accountable for its own P&L and services deliver including solution consulting reporting to the Vice President .

A large part of the Director of Professional Services role will be to budget, forecast and actualize service revenue targets, measuring revenue, gross profit and contribution targets for the Professional Services P&L. Developing and engaging in strong relationship with clients is a key priority, as well as assuring their projects are delivered on time, on budget and in compliance with quality and methodology standards. The Director of Professional Services must be a strong executive leader that promotes service revenue growth, operational excellence, and successful client implementations that provide customers with measurable value. The Director of Professional Services must possess experience and strength in the areas of complex project management, Professional Services financial measurement and management, team leadership and development, problem-solving, and process definition and improvement. This individual coordinates across various groups to resolve information technology issues, support IT planning and provide enforcement of those standards.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Select, organize, train, develop, and motivate a strong technical/team to assure high level of productivity, the best use of individual and group capabilities and appropriate career planning for all personnel.
  • Set a clear and ambitious vision, but also think holistically about how this vision impacts the greater company
  • Develop and recommend the department budget, monitor approved divisional budgets, note deviations, and initiate corrective actions in order to control costs and report on Professional Services performance and planning efforts.
  • Review and recommend relevant policies and procedures and assure their complete implementation to insure operational control and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate new technical developments and investments (hardware and software) that will advance enterprise objectives. Apply ideas from other industries, situations, and companies to growth and market expansion.
  • Ensure that standard best practices are upheld, specifically in project kickoffs, client-facing documentation, ongoing communications, and client-facing governance plans
  • Maintain full visibility and status on multiple complex projects including resourcing, budgeting, timeline, risk, and governance
  • Ready to scale a team and improve a highly profitable function within an already established company
  • Provide leadership in utilization of Professional Services throughout the corporation including significant coordination with the balance of the divisional or group leadership assigned to this person.
  • Manage and provide appropriate resources for the approved information and communications systems and projects.
  • Responsible for determining resource requirements, training needs, and internal control procedures that address relevant objectives
  • Ensure projects are clearly defined, documented, and managed through various project management tools, including time management, project management, and internal staff forecast requirements
  • Own and successfully manage a full P+L across Professional Services

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business, computer science, engineering or related field;
  • Ten years of IT professional level experience with a minimum of five years upper management experience in IT with multiple Infrastructure solutions, most predominately migrations to cloud and platform based offerings;
  • Must show a career track of progressive IT roles;
  • Experience should include roles in deploying business infrastructure and oversight of computer operations, computer hardware management and system design;
  • Able to travel with the New York tristate area – approximately 20%.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information;
  • Familiarity/expertise in Lean methodologies;
  • (Preferred): Master’s degree;
  • (Preferred): Experience with cloud technologies;
